Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
James 4:7, AMP
Many negative things persist in some believers life because they are not resisted. It’s essential to understand that resisting the devil’s works is the believer’s responsibility.
Don’t expect God or Jesus to stop the devil from working against you. You must take action to prevent the devil from prevailing in your life.
As a believer, you have the authority to stand firm against the devil. While you may not have control over the devil’s works in everyone’s life, you can certainly resist him in your own life and family.
So, stand firm against the devil, and he will retreat. You don’t need to feel or think you can resist the devil; you already have the authority to do so through the name of Jesus, as stated in the Word of God.
The Bible warns us not to give the devil a foothold in our lives. You are responsible if the devil finds a place in your life. You are to resist him, and he will run as in terror.
Resistance is achieved through speaking words that align with God’s Word. By speaking in the name of Jesus, according to God’s word, you exercise your God-given authority against the devil.
The devil doesn’t respect you as an individual, but he respects the Word of God you know and live by. He respects those that know their identity in Christ Jesus.
Speaking in line with God’s Word and the name of Jesus is effective in resisting the devil. So, whatever work of the devil is affecting your life, stand firm against it, reject it, and resist the devil through your words.
Confession:
I am who God says I am, I have what God says I have, and I can do what God says I can do. Satan, I resist your work in my life; you have no authority over me because Christ has given me power. I stand on the Word of God and declare freedom from your influence. My life is hidden in Christ, and I have victory through the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
